Detective Eleanor Ritter, who is put in charge of the case, has quite a puzzle to sort out, and she needs a crash course in the horse show subculture in order to solve the case. I like mysteries, which this definately is.

For me, the accuracy of the horse show scene made up for any lacks otherwise, as I rarely find authors that do 'horses' well.I was pleasantly surprised.

We're going to destroy your silly little circus. I am just sorry that it did end! I hadn't looked at this book since I originally read it in 1996, and I found myself casually skimming through it, eventually re-reading the entire thing. The main character, Hoshi,had a potentially great backstory, but sadly,we didn’t get any, not even a paragraph! I liked the characters and I could not put it down, I was too curious to find out what would happen in the end. Show Stopper! I enjoyed the story and learning a bit about Arabians and the horse show circuit.In this murder mystery a horse trainer is murdered at a horse show at a county fairgrounds in Illinois. A lot of what she describes doesn't seem that far-fetched.
