When they meet again months later, it's clear that despite misunderstandings the feelings between them are strong and maybe there will be a way for them after all... but then a misunderstanding and an Atlantic Ocean between them results in physical and time delays that seem impossible to resolve... or can true love conquer all?Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!

Welcome back. When they meet again months later, it's clear that despite misunderstandings the feelings between them are strong and maybThis is quite a hard review to write... there was a lot I liked about the book but there was a lot I didn't. We’d love your help. Emma’s latest book has just been published and I devoured it.

They spent a wonderful week together and then the things get complicated. I think he said it because when he first saw you, he wanted to fuck you.

Before Sophie met Samuel she saw the world in grey. He said it bluntly because that's probably all he wants from you, and wanted to be clear on that. I didn't realise at the time but a girl did similar to me, though she was drunk. Published !It’s not often that a book grabs me by the heart, and gives it a good squeeze within pages of the beginning, but only six pages into the book and I knew this book had me hooked completely. Her spare time consists of writing novels, drinking wine and watching box-sets with her partner of twenty-four years, who still makes her smile every day.Emma Cooper is a former teaching assistant, who lives in Shropshire, with her partner and four children. I am heart broken.

I am bereft. It was another slow-paced read, but it was lovely and sweet and a great read. This was a really enjoyable read, and another book that is perfect for reading wrapped up in a blanket with a cat, ignoring the horrible weather we’re having lately. It took me a little while to get into the story but once I had I found it hard to put down. Start by marking “The First Time I Saw You” as Want to Read: Emma Cooper has such a way with words; I love how she anthropomorphises inanimate objects (particularly Michael) and Oh my word.

This book had me smitten from the very beginning, with the chance meeting, on the streets of Washington, of the two endearing main characters, Samuel and Sophie. Such intimacy in her words and so beautifully written. Vulnerable before I found you Lost in the lonely streets of my heart I loved you since I first saw you and happiness reborn from my pointless past. The sentences each so poetic. The rest of the story is the sibling love of Sophie with her step-sister Helen and Samuel with his sister Sarah, and the parental love with Sophie and her mum (don’t get me started about the tea party) and with Samuel and his parents (can we just spend a moment to pay tribute to the awesomeness of Mr & Mrs M). This is a book that moves and inspires, tackling difficult subjects with sensitivity and a lightness of touch, making you fall in love with both Sophie and Samuel from the very first page.Emma Cooper is a former teaching assistant, who lives in Shropshire, with her partner and four children.

Prepare to cry and wish you were a better person.

When you have loved a book as much as I loved Emma’s debut, The Songs of Us, you want the next one to be just as good, but there is always the fear that it will not live up to the heights the last one achieved. I thought it was a beautifully written, funny book that manages to be both heartwarming and heart breaking at the same timeI’m a huge fan of this author so was incredibly excited to read this book. This is a story of misunderstandings and missed opportunities and terrible mistakes that all conspire to keep Sophie and Samuel apart.

Which gender is more likely to cheat on their partner? I am in love with all the characters in this book.

I loved Sophie and Samuel. I loved the writing style. He said it bluntly because that's probably all he wants from you, and wanted to be clear on that. Is there a double standard with 'experimenting'? "The First Time I Saw You" introduces us to Sophie, at the first sight a career - driven young woman who knows what she wants. Ooh, I needed a dream When it all seemed To go bad; Then I find you. I started off the year with the first book I’d ever read by her (you can read my review here) and I can’t stop! "The First Time I Saw You" introduces us to Sophie, at the first sight a career - driven young woman who knows what she wants. If you are a seller for this product, would you like to suggest updates through seller support? They both meet when Sophie is on business in Washington, in the middle of a thunderstorm, and they're completely smitten with each other. why was he so blunt about it? And I love the message of hope at the end. A spontaneous dark moment I loved it!!
Her characters are so vivid and real that after a few pages you feel like you know them personally. Some people are just forward like that. A chance meeting with Samuel starts a whirlwind romance which ends when Sophie realises that due to work, a relationship would be impossible.

I needed a dream To make me strong.
